Ratatouille

Ratatouille

Experience the vibrant flavors of this classic Ratatouille recipe, where thinly sliced tomatoes and zucchini meld with a herbed tomato sauce in a traditional cooking brick. Seasoned with Herbes de Provence and topped with fresh basil, this beloved French dish bakes to perfection, offering a deliciously healthy and comforting meal. Enjoy the rustic charm and enticing aromas in every colorful bite! 

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 large tomatoes
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • Herbes de Provence
  • Salt & pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Basil leaves

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:
    • Thinly slice the vegetables.
    • Season the vegetables with Herbes de Provence, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Let them rest for 30 minutes to release some moisture.
    • Season the tomato sauce with salt and olive oil in a separate bowl.

  2. Assembling the Brick:
    • Spread a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of the brick.
    • Create small towers of vegetables with alternating colors and flavors, layering them inside the brick until it is full.

  3. Cooking:
    • Preheat your oven to 165°C (329°F).
    • Cook the ratatouille for 45-50 minutes.

  4. Serving:
    • Garnish with basil leaves after the dish has cooled.
